How to Install the Chrome Companion Extension
- Go to Censia Chrome Companion Site on the Chrome Webstore
- Click "Add to Chrome"
- You will receive a notification that shares what Censia has access to Click "Add Extension"
- Important Notes: The Chrome Extension uses your Active Tab
- The extension needs to read the current tab that you are accessing ("Active Tab"), to identify the URL. It will use this to look up the viewed candidate, as well as to change the URL when you click on different social profile links, use the previous/next buttons, or encounter an invalid URL.
- We do not store any history from your web browser.
- We do not read any history outside of the current tab when the extension is opened.
How to Pin the App in your Browser
- Now if you use this often, and want to show the extension for easy access, you can click the puzzle piece icon to show all your extensions, and you can click the Pin icon to pin this to your task bar
- You will be able to confirm this because you will see the Censia Icon in your browser next to the Puzzle Icon.
- If you click on it now, it will not display any data yet, as you have to be logged into the platform in order for the App to work. You will get a dialogue box as shown below
Navigation and Working with Candidates
- Once you Log-in and generate a slate, then the Censia Chrome Companion will activate
- Anytime you open a new role created in TAI it takes a few seconds to sync the slate of candidates to the cache that we have for the Chrome extension
- Once you click on one of the social links (such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, GitHub or others, for a candidate) then, you can open your Chrome extension
- If it says No Roles for this user, that means that the sync is still in process, so give it a few short moments and try to re-open the Chrome extension app
- Once you open the Chrome extension App, you will be able to see pertinent data associated with the candidate being viewed, and then you can use the Like icon to show if a candidate is a “Good Fit”, “Great Fit”, or “Not a Fit” right from the Chrome extension. Once a selection is made, then the Chrome extension will automatically navigate to the next profile from the slate. Alternatively, a user can manually move to the next candidate from the slate by using the Navigation arrow icons to move forward or backward through the candidates from the slate.
- If a user clicks on the “Like” icon, then the Chrome extension will automatically navigate to the next profile in the slate.
- If you have already worked with this candidate and have selected the Thumb Icon, this will sync into the Chrome extension and highlight your selection.
- If you hover over the X-Factors Icon for the candidate, you will see a tool-tip that will display the details that the candidate participated in.
- The example below, shows the Funding Events of an example user
- In addition to the X-Factors, you can also see the work history of a particular candidate.
- If you go back to the slate, and you have some listed as Unviewed that is because the slate does not update automatically in at this time. You will have to refresh your page for the slate to update.
- Once you refresh, you will see the updates you made from the Censia Chrome Companion App.
- For a Person who has not been Enriched yet, when you click the "Show Contacts" button, it will have a loading icon to let you know that the candidate enrichment process has started.
- If the candidate has already been enriched, the extension will display the contact details associated with the person being viewed.
- Additionally, if you have a candidate that shows up in multiple roles, you can expand the Role Name drop-down menu and go back and forth to evaluate the candidate for each role they appear in.
- This will allow you to as a “Great Fit”, “Good Fit,” or “Not a Fit” for each role they are associated with.
- If a candidate has been labeled as one of the options above, the Chrome extension will automatically navigate to the next candidate from the slate.
- If you have a Social Profile that does not belong to the candidate you are looking at, you can press the Menu Icon to the right of the Role Name, and you can label this as "Wrong Person"
- This will help the system to not retrieve the Social Profile for that person if they were to show up in a different slate.
- The Companion app will retrieve one of the alternate links if they have multiple Profiles on the same social site.
- This person will be skipped if they do not have multiple Profiles on the target social site. This way, our system will not show incorrect data if this person is featured in future search results.
- This will help the system to not retrieve the Social Profile for that person if they were to show up in a different slate.
- If the Social Profile is invalid and it shows a 404 Message, the Chrome extension will automatically redirect you to the next candidate from the slate within 5 seconds or less.
- You don't have to worry about it breaking your flow, it will automatically navigate for you.
- If they have a valid Social Link URL that is different from the initial one we attempted to link to, the system will navigate to that URL automatically. If we do not have another URL link on file, the system will skip the current candidate and move to the next candidate from the slate.
- If you try to navigate backward, the system should not navigate to the invalid URL, only the proper one, since we marked the invalid URL.
